BRIXEN-BRESSANONE AND ITS SURROUNDINGS
Here you can find all the information you are looking for about Brixen-Bressanone, its history, culture and traditions, South Tyrolean nature and recreation in one of the most beautiful regions of the Alps.
In addition to the Cathedral, of course – the old town and the Neustift-Novacella Abbey (where the Summer Camp takes place), we warmly suggest a visit to:
- The Prince Bishops’ Palace where the cathedral treasure and the permanent collection of cribs are kept
- The local farmers’ market, held every Wednesday and Saturday
- The Water Light Festival in Neustift-Novacella, held every day throughout the month of June: an appointment with the best contemporary light art (at Neustift-Novacella until June 29)
- The curious little Pharmacy Museum established by the Peer family of historic local pharmacists
- The archaeological path leading from the Stufles district of the town for 7 km through vineyards and apple orchards up to the Roman tower of Elvas.
- A walk to the summit of the Plose, reached by the cable car of the same name. A panoramic and elegant restaurant at the top of the Plose is La Finestra.
- A walk suitable for everyone to visit the natural monument of the Gilfenklamm-Stanghe Water Falls.
Two restaurants in city centre must be mentioned: Traubenwirt and Finsterwirt
